What a great pictoral site, Vman. I plan to take a similar trip this August from central Arkansas and you've fanned the flames. Arrived here by entering Custer Park in browser window. Now to read your trip log. Thanks again, Tom Mayflower, AR

Tom - Glad you enjoyed the pictures!  I have lots of work to do here on the site and many more trips to still load/organize.  Have safe trip, hope you have as much fun as I had.

Hey nice page. I just joined a Honda Shadow forum, and saw your site. I live in Limington, and just last year picked up my first Shadow. Always looking for good rides.

Thanks!  Kim is real happy with her Shadow.  We do all kinds of rides in the summer, some with groups and others alone.  You would be welcome to join if you like ...

Howdy, great Family...It is wonderful to see such a close knit clan...it warms the heart. Nice pics, I really like the capo....(more my style) (grin). I wish you and yours well, Burton & Family.

Burton - Thank you for the great compliments.  Capo was one of my favorite motorcycles to own, sorry to have sold it, maybe I will be lucky enough to own another.  You have an awesome family yourself! Good luck on the "change", please keep in touch.

Hello - You have an photo of Mt. Rushmore that comes up on page 1 of an Images search on Google. I need a Mt. Rushmore photo for a project. Is this one available for public use? I tried to email from your "Questions" section, but it wouldn't open. Would you reply, please, to jefferson@patricklee.com? Thanks! Patrick Lee

Patrick Lee - I sent you an e-mail regarding the Mt Rushmore photo and offered to send you a high resolution copy of the same picture.  I do want to say thanks for asking in advance.

Don, Great job on your websight. So how do you like the Boss Hoss? Any changes? Hope to see the bike in person sometime! Sure was surprised to see you sell BDADI2D. You did an awesome job building it into a beautiful bike ... even if it was a Honda (smile)! MikeZ

Mike - Thank you very much.  I love the Boss and I have a few changes in store this winter.  I really did love the Valkyrie but it was time to move along ...

GREAT WEB SITE!!! My wife and I are starting to plan a trip from jax, fl. to bryce-canyon and i came accross your pic's and log. we are originally from rochester, new york and may take the long way back to florida, maybe even go through canada. We were planning on going from jax to texas, new mexico and on to bryce canyon. we want to stay at bryce for a week and finish our trip by going up north ad over to N.Y before going back home.

i was wondering what a good amount of time would be for this trip, 2 weeks - 4 weeks? and can you give me any idea of the cost of your trip as my wife and i will be camping most of the time and hotel's every 5-6 days. if you could give me any info please e-mail peorge@comcast.net

hope we have as good a time as you guys did.

I am very happy to see you enjoyed my website ... thanks.  I sent you an e-mail with some info you may find useful on your trip.  You will have a great time - impossible not too!

Hey Don, Its Dennis. As you may be aware I moved to Ohio over the winter....still lurk on the message board. All I can say is I have never met a more uptight, immature and cranky bunch of sorry asses in my life. I consider you a friend although the times we've ridden were far too few. I respect your technical knowledge, your open and frank disposition and your sense of humor. All I can say buddy is fuck 'em all if they cant take a joke. Ride safe buddy. alittle_bored@fuse.net

Dennis good to hear from you as always!  I didn't know you guys had moved - what part of Ohio? How do you and Jennifer like it there?

You are "real" people Dennis and I consider you a friend.  You've never been the kind of guy that pretends to be anything  different then you are - GOOD PEOPLE!  You hit it when you describe them (most) as "uptight, immature and cranky bunch of sorry asses"

Thanks for your support.  Hope to see you sometime soon, say hello to Jennifer from Kim and I.

Check out Big Bike Riders Board ... That is where I have been hanging my hat for awhile.   http://www.bigbikeriders.com/forums/index.php

BOYCOTT STURGIS. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT DRUNK DRIVERS KILLING MOTORCYCLE RIDERS. LET THEM DO WITHOUT OUR MONEY THIS YEAR.

I am happy you found my website.  I hope that you enjoyed your visit. You obviously saw my pictures of Sturgis, SD and surrounding areas - absolutely beautiful country.  I highly recommend every motorcyclist do a trip on this scale and see everything they possibly can at least once in their lifetime.

This is a personal webpage and NOT a political platform of any kind!  Since you brought it up, I will respond but first ... why did you respond with a post in my guestbook?  If you wanted to debate the Sturgis issue you could have easily contacted me with any one of the multiple links on my site that lead you to my e-mail address ... why here?  Now for my response -

A boycott of Sturgis, Sturgis area or the Sturgis Rally WILL NOT hurt anybody but the residents of South Dakota.  Do you think it will effect Janklow? Do you think a boycott will change the laws in South Dakota?  Do you think the residents of SD do not care about motorcyclists?  A blanket statement of "boycott Sturgis" is small minded and ridicules!  If you want to change the way the laws read in SD then as a motorcyclist then you have to take an active stance.  Go to SD and ride in a protest march, go to SD and participate in a change.  Pick up a pen and spend $.37 on a stamp ... send a letter to the Governor or the Attorney General - I did! (My Letter)

Unfortunately I will not be going to Sturgis this year - not because I am "boycotting" them but time and money will not allow for another trip like this so soon.  I suggest anybody considering the boycott nonsense and do some research.  The AMA (and other motorcyclist clubs) is strongly advising against a boycott!

If you like to discuss this further please contact me at my e-mail address!  Any other entries here will be deleted and/or blocked.

Great story and great trip. In two years I plan on buying a Gold Wing or Boss Hoss. I have been riding for many years. But have been with out a bike for a year now because of a divorce and bankruptcy.I can't wait to get back on the road.I really enjoyed your trip, it was like being there with you. Good luck to you and yours!

Thanks - glad you enjoyed the read.  I love the new Boss Hoss and it makes a good touring bike too!  Hold off on a Goldwing till you are sure Honda has some of their issues resolved.  Good luck!

Hi, I think your pages are great !

Paul Hallisey is a personal friend of ours - we helped the "butthead" get through High School.

I've already asked him to get me a high resolution copy of a pic, but know him well enough to have a "plan B" !

Would you please send me a hi res copy of:

"rangeley_lakes_ride_2003/Paul"Wall(nut)" ?

Thanks,

Leo Martin leom@tdstelme.net Smithfield, ME

You openly admit that he is a friend?  Wow ... wonder how much he had to pay you!  Just kidding, Paul is a great guy!  High res copy of the picture sent to your e-mail.

Hey V-Man, that Sturgis trip looks awsom! I have a brother in Nashua NH and we are in Brockport NY, I've ridden that route a lot. Looks like that schedule keeps you moving! We are 65 miles from 'The Falls', 585.637.4981 if you need anything in our neck of the woods... Have fun and ride safe. Bluescreen VRCC 18975 srosenbe@rochester.rr.com

THANK you.  Really looking forward to the trip in August!

Greetings - Nice site - clean, clear, uncluttered. I was looking for an email link. I was wondering how I can get a link to my site put in your "Motorcycle Links" section. I am link-swapping to promote the site (we have chrome Valkyrie exhaust pipes), and I would like to put a link to your site on www.airflo.com, and get my site added to your list. Many Thanks, Charlie, Webmaster, Air Flow Systems, Inc.

Thanks Charlie, I added a link for your "stacks" ... nice product!

The goldwing flames look great. Their pretty subdued, I don't know why even flame-haters would have a problem. Gary

Gary, I appreciate the compliment!  Who knows why people react the way they do?

Hey V-Man I have a question. Did you have a cigarette permanently attached to your lips? Ever picture of you there is a short one hanging out of your mouth.

OK Joe ...   Answer: No not permanently attached but a cigarette is never too far away.  :)

Don the site is looking really great! I especially like the "old" pictures of the early rides with the VRCC. The girls section is a nice touch enjoy them while they are young cause they grow real fast.

GaryC

Thanks Gary!  I look at the old pictures often
